An eventful weekend part 1

So, I had quite an eventful weekend! From eating great food at a primary school to getting a flat tyre on our way to Franskraal to going into a sketchy area tracking a stolen phone to great adventures while playing Pig-Out.

It will be too much information and photographic evidence for me to be able to fit it into one entry, so you can expect numerous entries from me during the week.

To start, on Friday directly after work I went through to the school where my mom is a teacher. They were having a food festival where each grade gets a different country and they then need to sell food from that country.

It was such a lovely idea and the way it was organized was brilliant. And the food I had was delicious! I filled myself to the brim. The various countries and their food varieties were Japan (spring rolls), New Zealand (Pavlova), Scotland (Great Scott! – make your own gingerbread man), France (pancakes, Quiche, chocolate mousse), U.S.A. (hamburgers, cheese grillers, doughnuts), Italy (pizza, spaghetti), England (tea, pastries, cake), South Africa (boerewors/sausage rolls, vetkoek, potjiekos, koeksisters) and there was a Halaal stall too (samoosas, rooties, breyani).

My personal favourites were South Africa, Japan, Italy, England, France and the Halaal stall. Here are some pictures to give you an idea of how awesome and creative it was.

Yes, I had food from most of these places. I stuffed myself. And I took some take-aways for the road to Franskraal. So, this was the first fun part of my weekend. Stay tuned for the rest to follow later in the week 🙂 it’s going to be exciting!
